What is App Store Analytics: App Download Date?

According to Apple, “App Download Date” refers to “The date when the user last downloaded or redownloaded the app from the App Store.” It’s important to remember that “Updates and app restores do not impact this date.”

In other words, the “App Download Date” filter will account for iOS users who download your app(s) for the first time, as well as those that redownload it after having deleted it in the past. It does not, however, account for iOS users who update your app to the latest version or restore your app to their phones once they purchase a new device.

To use the “App Download Date” filter, log in to your App Store Connect account and navigate to the “Metrics” tab. Then select the desired date range and choose the “App Download Date” dimension. Please note: the “App Download Date” filter is only available for Apps, not App Clips.
