What is App Store Analytics: Web Referrer?

Do you advertise your apps on the internet? Of course you do, it’s a fantastic way to promote your products in the Apple App Store—as long as you know what you’re doing. The “Web Referrer” filter will help you determine where traffic to your App Store product pages comes from. That way you can decide which of your campaigns are effective.

For example, let’s pretend that you’re running a series of banner ads on various websites across the internet. You don’t want to waste money, so you need to discover which websites generate the most return on investment (ROI).

To pinpoint these details, login to your App Store Connect account and navigate to the “Sources” tab. You then click the “Web Referrer” metric to learn which websites drive the most traffic to your App Store product pages. Finally, you invest more resources into the top-performing websites to generate more traffic. The “Web Referrer” filter is available for both Apps and App Clips.
